affect?
Garbage in the ocean comes from trash from trash cans, the streets, and landfills that gets blown into sewers, rivers, or directly into the ocean. ... The trash makes its way into storm drains. Trash travels through sewer pipes, into waterways, and finally into the ocean.
From plastic bags to pesticides - most of the waste we produce on land eventually reaches the oceans, either through deliberate dumping or from run-off through drains and rivers. Marine debris or marine litter has long been a problem and threat to marine life.
The turtle thing at plastic bags are jellyfish
and they eat it and die.
Question 1

(you need to use your own question here, use the matrix below to give you a starting idea)

Why do people kill the sea animals with plastic?
Sign our petition to protect marine wildlife from deadly plastic pollution. Plastics pollution has a direct and deadly effect on wildlife. Thousands of seabirds and sea turtles, seals and other marine mammals are killed each year after ingesting plastic or getting entangled in it.
Globally, 100,000 marine mammals die every year as a result of plastic pollution. This includes whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals and sea lions. There are two principal ways that encountering marine debris can be fatal for these creatures: ingestion (eating) or entanglement in plastic-based fishing gear.
The Problem: Over 1 million marine animals (including mammals, fish, sharks, turtles, and birds) are killed each year due to plastic debris in the ocean. Currently, it is estimated that there are 100 million tons of plastic in oceans around the world.
Question 2

(you need to use your own question here, use the matrix below to give you a starting idea)

Why do people dump plastic in the sea?
There are three main ways the plastic we use every day ends up in the oceans. Plastic you put in the bin ends up in landfill. When rubbish is being transported to landfill, plastics often blown away because it's so lightweight. From there, it can eventually clutter around drains and enter rivers and the sea this way.
That means the majority of plastic waste has simply been dumped in landfills or burned. However, when plastic waste is collected and transported to landfill sites, it can be at risk of escaping into the environment. Even when it's in landfills, plastic i sat risk of blowing away and ending up in rivers or oceans.
Trash Travels estimates that plastic bags can take 20 years to decompose, plastic bottles up to 450 years, and fishing line, 600 years; but in fact, no one really knows how long plastics will remain in the ocean. With exposure to UV rays and the ocean environment, plastic breaks down into smaller and smaller fragments
Question 3

(you need to use your own question here, use the matrix below to give you a starting idea)

What happens to the plastic in the ocean?
While plastic thrown into landfills contaminates the soil and groundwater with harmful chemicals and microorganisms, the effects of marine pollution caused by plastic are immeasurable. Just like on land, even in the oceanic areas, the effects of plastic on marine life has started to be felt.

Chlorinated plastic can release harmful chemicals into the surrounding soil, which can then seep into groundwater or other surrounding water sources and also the ecosystem of the world. This can cause serious harm to the species that drink the water. Landfill areas contain many different types of plastics.
