I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 8 and in 2021 I will be a year 9. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Gold Rush
Gold is valuable because it is rare and looks attractive, gold is found as very small flecks in the quartz veins of hard rocks.
You would find alluvial gold come from the rocks once they have been worn down. Where it be, there it be.
Gold is found in NZ in six different places and they are Otago, Southland, West Coast, Golden Bay, Marlborough and Coromandel peninsula.
Gold is rare and it is shiny, heavy, Inert and malleable. Name the first European to discover gold in Aotearoa. Charles Ring, Where was he from? Tasmanian and he found gold driving creek and when did he found gold was 1852.
State how much gold has been found in NZ up to 2003 and 312 tonnes from the Coromandel Peninsula, 274 tonnes from the West Coast and 265 tonnes from the Otago.
The date that there started was Coromandel 1867s Golden Bay 1960s Otago 1861s and the West Coast 1880s.
