food safety and personal safety/hygiene.
Today this is one of the tacks that we had to do about food safety and personal safety/hygiene.
This is what I did.
Food safety:
Don’t wash raw meat - However, washing raw poultry, beef, pork, lamb or veal before cooking it is not recommended.
Wash all fruits and vegetables and peel them - The reason is so you get no bugs in your food and no dirt.
Always use a separate cutting board for raw meat - The reason for this is that raw red meat, seafood, poultry and eggs can spread bacteria to other foods even after washing.
Personal Safety/Hygiene:
Children should be supervised at all times while in the kitchen. Ovens, knives, hot liquids, hot pots and electrical appliances are all potentially dangerous.
If you have a cut you wear gloves.
Wash your hands with soap and water and Hand sanitising -
Handwashing with soap and water or using hand sanitiser, when done correctly, are both highly effective at killing most germs and viruses.
Keep yourself and work areas clean -
Wash hands before performing the next job function after touching other food - Hand washing is vital in preventing contamination of food by food handlers. Harmful bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus and virusesTuesday, February 9, 2021
