Savoury bread cases

Last week in cooking we have started learning how to cook and today we made a savoury bread cases.
The things you can put in your savoury bread cases is
- Tinned spaghetti
- Sliced bread
- Grated cheese
- Ham
- Pineapple
- Margarine
Bake 180c and cook for 10mins
I think my team was okay but not the best people to work with.
I couldn't eat the savoury bread cases because I am lactose intolerant and gluten free.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of wholegrain bread

  • 1t margarine

  • 2T grated cheese

  • 2T baked beans or creamed corn

  • 1T finely diced celery or onion

  • 1 slice of ham

Method

  1. Trim crusts off the bread

  2. Spread margarine thinly onto one side of bread

  3. Press into muffin tins margarine side down

  4. Fill each case with fillings (baked beans or corn, celery, onion, ham and cheese)

  5. Bake in oven until lightly brown and cheese is bubbling.

food safety and personal safety/hygiene.

Today this is one of the tacks  that we had to do about food safety and personal safety/hygiene.

This is what I did.

Food safety:

Don’t wash raw meat - However, washing raw poultry, beef, pork, lamb or veal before cooking it is not recommended.

Wash all fruits and vegetables and peel them - The reason is so you get no bugs in your food and no dirt.

Always use a separate cutting board for raw meat - The reason for this is that raw red meat, seafood, poultry and eggs can spread bacteria to other foods even after washing.

Personal Safety/Hygiene:

Children should be supervised at all times while in the kitchen. Ovens, knives, hot liquids, hot pots and electrical appliances are all potentially dangerous.

If you have a cut you wear gloves.

Wash your hands with soap and water and Hand sanitising -

Handwashing with soap and water or using hand sanitiser, when done correctly, are both highly effective at killing most germs and viruses.

Keep yourself and work areas clean -

Wash hands before performing the next job function after touching other food - Hand washing is vital in preventing contamination of food by food handlers. Harmful bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus and viruses

Sustainability ( textiles)

Last week in textiles we have started learning about sustainability. We had to talk about what Sustainability means and we had to research some questions about Sustainability and this is the questions.
We had to make a post on google drawing or make a slide of what Sustainability means.
-What is it?
-What are some of the issues we face? (at least 3)
-What is a carbon footprint?
-What can we do to be more sustainable in our lives?
This is my post on google drawings.
I also did it with a friend to help her and this is her blog: Candesse
